We welcome visits from schools and colleges.
The Visitor Centre gives students a wide experience for the study of life in the past. The displays are appropriate to many aspects of the History National Curriculum.
Visits can be made during normal opening hours. A donation towards the upkeep of the centre of £15 per class is requested at these times, but it is not possible to provide guides.
Visits can be made at other times - preferably Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday mornings - at a charge of £35 per class for half a day. Guides will be provided and classes should be divided into groups of about twelve students.
It is essential that party visits are booked in advance. We strongly recommend that teachers pay a preliminary visit before bringing a group.
